Stop Doubting Yourself and Go After What You Really Want

 1. The actions of confidence come first; the feelings of confidence come later. Mario, describes the confidence gap as the place we get stuck when fear gets in the way of our dreams and ambitions. We believe that we can’t achieve or even work on our goals until we feel more confident. This, he says, is the wrong rule of confidence. The first rule of confidence is: “The actions of confidence come first, the feelings come later.” I realized that I had been putting off some many things, waiting for the day when I would magically feel more confident! Recognizing that this day would probably never come, I started experimenting with strategies and ideas to help me start taking small steps, which, despite the fear and doubt, helped me build my confidence over time. 2. You can always get better. People with fixed mindsets believe that their talents and intelligence are fixed, so they spend their lives trying to prove themselves. Their self-worth is always on the line, and failure is to be...

Studying Abroad

Adinda Cahyani 2223210016 3B Studying Abroad In my point of view studying abroad can give us a unique opportunity to learn things from the cultural perspective of your destination country. We can also interact with international students from other countries who definitely have a new perspective that we have never heard of before. because of us studying abroad we can seek the experience of living abroad or learning a foreign language well. Want to study at a good school or university. Want to follow a major that is not provided in the country. Studying abroad helps us to learn about ourselves. Students who study abroad return home with new ideas and perspectives about themselves and their own culture. Experiences abroad often challenge them to reconsider their own beliefs and values. Experiences may reinforce values or may cause students to change or leave old habits and embrace new concepts and perceptions. Encounters with other cultures allow students to see their own culture th...

Speaking Reflection   With hurdles came hidden strengths I discovered about myself. I've never thought of myself as a leader, but because the class used group thinking in more than one occasion, I found that I am a good leader. I communicate my ideas to the group while trying to balance the ideas of others so the group can come to an agreed upon decision. Obviously this can benefit me no matter what career I decide to go into, because the ability to take control of a situation and still remain diplomatic with colleagues is a valuable asset to have. Other than this, I can't think of any other strength I discovered. I don't think of myself as egotistical, but honestly I am pretty happy with the way I am and find it hard to think of strengths I don't already possess.

Speaking Reflection In this course i feel, speaking its good to our discussion and easy to know about another opinion, but sometimes hard again to understand meaning in their opinion The biggest hurdle in the class for me was time management. I am a procrastinator and always have been, so completing assignments on time was and still is a challenge for me. I have not come to a full solution to this problem yet, but I did make changes in my life as to how I can manage time management. I found that it was easier for me to focus on homework if I was outside my dorm room, because when in my dorm, I would usually mess around on the internet or take naps. I don't think realistically I will get over procrastination anytime soon, but I can manage it.

Adinda Cahyani 2223210016 3B SPEAKING REFLECTION This course has provided a very comfortable atmosphere which encourages interactive discussion among students including myself. By discussing, it is easy for me to exchange ideas and opinions regarding the discussion that will be written or discussed together. When I sit down to reflect on my time about speaking,  i try really hard to learn how to improve on what I haven't mastered. There are still many things that I do not understand, especially regarding the layout of the language, and the use of adjectives or verbs which I am still developing. From here I should be able to further develop myself in this course, because it will be the main material in the future.
